Overview

Dr. Mitchell K. Spinnell received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and earned his M.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1991. He was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Medical Center and completed his Gastroenterology training there in 1999. Dr. Spinnell is board-certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice in both the State of New Jersey and the State of New York.

Dr. Spinnell is an Attending Physician at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where he served on the Medical Executive Committee. He is an Attending Physician at Holy Name Hospital. He is a Clinical Instructor of Internal Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He has special interests in advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, stenting, and gastrointestinal malignancies as well as new non-invasive, weight loss procedures. He is currently very active in clinical research, most recently involving Crohn’s Disease, C. difficile colitis, and bloodless medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association.
